Espirit de Corps Film

Dancer and Model Cressida Bonas features in a short emotive film shot and directed by Photographer Claudia Legge and Creative Director Alexandra St-Amour.

The film is centred around Cressida exploring and interpreting emotions of release, escape, freedom and joy through movement and dance. The expression of these emotions are akin to their environment, whether in the stark and beautiful open gallery space or under the weightless, muted surrounds and fluidity of water. The juxtaposition of the two environments creates a powerful balance of imagery, with dance being the thread that joins the two.

Shooting at the iconic Lypiatt Estate, the former home of Modernist British sculptor, Lynn Chadwick (1914–2003) was a unique opportunity. Chadwick’s expressionistic, figurative works in welded iron and bronze feature throughout the film, providing a grounding and otherworldly presence. The stillness of the sculptures being a haunting contrast between the constant energetic movement of dance. Original artworks by Daniel Chadwick and Damien Hurst also feature.
